Two game genres that the gaming world stays away from: CRPG and life simulation
baldurs gate and divinity origins and thousands of crpg games(!) no no not thousands maybe 4 maybe 5 you’ve already played most of them. there is a similar situation in the life simulation genre the sims has been the only one in this genre for 24 years. so why is this so? the answer is very simple: game companies are cowards and lazy they want to earn a lot with little effort and in 2024 they do exactly what they want. 4k and high resolution empty games are ok, those who say the graphics of the game are very nice and give 10 points are ok and the formula is that simple. there are thousands of dialogues side stories and constantly changing cutscenes in crpg games. thousands of possibilities that need to be calculated in life simulation games pufff these are hard work let’s make an fps shooter game

Some games that went through an utterly hellish development cycle and still came out amazing.
Games like Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, Metroid Prime, Witcher 3, The Last of Us, Demon’s Souls, Uncharted 4, etc. The development of those games were so turbulent it’s a miracle they came together at all, let alone be as good as they were. I haven’t played all of these games as I only have an Xbox and gaming laptop, but I know they are VERY highly regarded. Also I am not counting Cyberpunk 2077 as I am only counting games that were great at launch, and Cyberpunk needed three years of updates and an expansion to truly become amazing.I know game development is never flawless (and this is absolutely NOT to defend poor development practices), but my point is that not all games that go through troubled development comes out bad. Just most of them.

Most zoological edutainment places in the US I’ve worked/been to coddle theists by omitting evolution and it’s disgusting
I’ve worked at a few edutainment zoological places, some big some small and A LOT of them omitt talking about or saying evolution/adaptation outright. They’ve specifically been told to avoid saying these and talk more about suited to environment or less evolution evident language.
The reason is obvious, they don’t want to offend evangelical Christians and other theists so they stop spending there or leave bad reviews or something but it’s Franky disgusting they pander to them so hard.
Management always says it’s from corporate and they all make disappointed faces as they say so.
I can only imagine doing business as usual and theist just going on and on about how evolution isn’t true or god or just overall being frustrating while you try to educate about animals and the environment but I hate that we live in a time where it’s beneficial financially and for peace of mind to coddle theists who are indoctrinated agaisnt evilution.
